I am a dedicated Kathak artist with 16 years of learning and training in this beautiful classical dance form. My journey in Kathak has been more than just learning steps—it has been a path of discipline, expression, devotion, and continuous growth. Currently, I am pursuing Visharad (Graduation in Kathak), deepening my understanding of its rich tradition, technique, and artistry. For this performance, I have uploaded ‘Shakar Atiprachand’, a powerful and dynamic production choreographed by Guru Pt. Rajendra Gangani Ji of the Jaipur Gharana. This composition reflects the strength, precision, and intricate rhythmic beauty of the Jaipur style. Through my performance, I aim to express the essence of Kathak while showcasing my passion, dedication, and years of training. For me, Kathak is not just a dance form—it is a part of my identity and a way of expressing my soul.

I have been learning Bharatanatyam for over 10 years and have completed a Double Diploma from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Prayagraj. I have performed on various stages and won accolades including the National Level Classical Dance Competition at Kala Utsav and the National Level CBSE Classical Dance Competition. The video I have uploaded for my audition is in two parts. The first part represents a pure classical piece composed by Smt. Bhageshree Vaze in taal Dhamar. However, the second part is a krishna thumri is also performed representing the mischievous yet beautiful teasing between Radha and lord Krishna. the first part is a pure representation of the classical and technical parts of the dance form whereas the second part that is the Krishna Thumri is based more on the expressive part. Thank you!

I have presented a traditional solo Kathak performance based on taal Teentaal (16 beats cycle). The performance begins with compositions set to Vilambit laya followed by Drut laya. Overall, the entire presentation deals with the technical aspect of Kathak, showcasing its on stage performative repertoire.

I started learning Kathak from age 4. My journey in Kathak dance has been a path of discipline, expression, devotion, and continuous growth under the guidance of esteemed Gurus of the Jaipur Gharana, Smt. Monisa Nayak and Shri Sanjeet Gangani. I have completed my Alankaar (Master’s in Kathak) from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, which further deepened my understanding of its rich tradition, technique, and artistry. My submission is a Kathak-based dance recital in Dhamaar Taal (14 beats), performed to a composition sung by Shri Pramod Parihar ji. I aim to present Kathak not merely as a dance form, but as a living art that bridges generations, emotions, and culture. I intend to preserve and celebrate India’s artistic heritage while creating a meaningful and engaging experience for contemporary audiences. This submission reflects my passion, years of training, and commitment to Kathak as a medium of artistic expression and cultural identity.
